The Wizard of Oz (1939)

We click our heels in anticipation.  There's no place like home and no movie like this one.  From generation to generation, The Wizard of Oz brings us together - children, adults, families and friends.  The dazzling land of Oz, a dream-come-true world of enchanted forests, dancing scarecrows and singing lions, wraps us in its magic with one great song-filled adventure after another.  Based on L. Frank Baum's treasured book series, The Wizard of Oz was judged the best family film of all time by the American Film Institute.

I invite you to embark for the Emerald City on the most famous road in movie history.  Dorothy (Judy Garland), Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), Tin Woodman (Jack Haley) and Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) await you on the Yellow Brick Road and Over the Rainbow. xx

Meet Me In St. Louis (1944)

Set in St.Louis 1903, the four privelaged Smith daughters love the town they live in. Esther Smith, (Judy Garland) falls in love with the boy next door when Mr.Smith learns he has an opportunity to move his family to New York.  I love the hair, costumes,  and the singing is amazing too!

Meet Me In St. Louis is one of my favourite MGM musicals. I love all the seasons, especially, Autumn and Winter. I love the Halloween scene and the Christmas dance scene. Love all the songs, 'Have Yourself A Merry Christmas.' is lovely and Judy Garland had an amazing voice! I watch this film every Christmas Eve and it makes me feel warm and cosy! xx

Easter Parade (1948)

Strolling along 5th Avenue or going on the bum as A Couple of Swells.  Judy Garland and Fred Astaire lead a parade of music and gotta-dance fun (including Fred Astaire's Drum Crazy) in this never-ending delight co-starring Ann Miller (performing a knockout Shakin' the Blues Away) and Peter Lawford (gamely crooning The Fella with the Umbrella with Garland).  Don't let this colourful Easter Parade pass you by!

Easter Parade is a happy, feel good musical!  The songs are great and the costumes are wonderful.  I watch this musical every Easter Sunday while eating chocolate Easter eggs. :) xx
